CYBERFORT organizes "CRA Ready for SMEs" workshop to support European SMEs in preparing for the Cyber Resilience Act

Online via Microsoft Teams, 10th of June 2026

On June 10, 2026, the National Cybersecurity Directorate of Romania (DNSC) organizes the online workshop "CRA Ready for SMEs" within the CYBERFORT project, a three-hour practical session designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises across Europe move from regulatory uncertainty to concrete Cyber Resilience Act readiness.

Event Overview

The Cyber Resilience Act is rapidly becoming a core business requirement for companies operating across Europe. Many SMEs, however, are still uncertain about how these new cybersecurity obligations affect their products, services, and position in the digital supply chain, and where to begin their preparedness journey.

"CRA Ready for SMEs" addresses this gap directly. Organised by the Romanian National Cybersecurity Directorate (DNSC) within the CYBERFORT project, the workshop is built around clear business language, concrete first steps, and practical resources. Participants will learn how to interpret CRA obligations in operational terms, identify the minimum cybersecurity measures companies should begin implementing, and discover how the CYBERFORT platform can support their readiness journey without significant cost.

Participation is free of charge. All registered participants will receive a CRA Starter Pack, practical cybersecurity checklists and templates, workshop materials, and a participation certificate.

Why Attend

CRA is becoming a market requirement, not only a regulatory one. Supply chains and enterprise customers are starting to transfer cybersecurity assurance obligations downstream to SMEs, and companies that prepare early will be better positioned commercially.

"CRA Ready for SMEs" brings together national authorities, European cybersecurity experts, and CYBERFORT partners with one clear goal: translate CRA obligations into workable first steps, practical tools, and realistic support mechanisms for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Topics

Participants will engage in discussions on:

  • CRA scope, obligations, and implementation timelines for SMEs
  • Practical relationship between CRA, NIS2, and GDPR
  • Minimum cybersecurity measures
  • Organizational versus technical measures and affordable, open-source tooling for SMEs
  • Common mistakes SMEs should avoid on the path to compliance
  • How CYBERFORT capabilities support compliance, readiness scoring, and roadmap generation

Concept

The session is designed to feel approachable, clear, and genuinely useful for a business audience. It is not an academic lecture, a legal seminar, or a highly technical cybersecurity presentation. Instead, it is built as a practical conversation with companies that need to understand what CRA means for them and what they can realistically start doing right away.

The guiding question throughout the workshop is straightforward:

"What should my company start doing next Monday?"

The initiative directly aligns with CYBERFORT objectives related to cybersecurity awareness, CRA-focused training, and SME upskilling.

Outcomes

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of whether and how CRA affects their business, greater confidence in identifying priority cybersecurity actions, and practical knowledge of minimum cybersecurity measures expected of European companies. Discussions will surface common blockers across the SME landscape and connect participants with CRA-readiness tools, templates, and guidance materials developed within CYBERFORT. The focus stays on sustainable readiness, not one-off checklists. All registered participants receive a CRA Starter Pack, practical checklists and templates, workshop materials, and a participation certificate.
